CNC Machining Team Leader
Salary: £39,395 per annum + overtime + performance bonus
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday–Thursday 07:30–16:30, Friday 07:30–13:30
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Machining Team Leader to join a growing manufacturing operation at a modern, state-of-the-art facility.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will take ownership of a CNC machining area, lead a multi-skilled team and drive performance against safety, quality, delivery and productivity targets.
The Role
As CNC Machining Team Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation and performance of your production area, ensuring CNC operations run efficiently and production targets are consistently achieved.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, organise and motivate a multi-skilled CNC machining team.
- Manage daily production activities to achieve build plans, output and KPI targets.
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate production priorities, performance and issues.
- Support the efficient operation of CNC machinery and automated/robotic processes.
- Monitor production performance and take action to minimise downtime and line stoppages.
- Ensure high standards of Health & Safety, including risk assessments, COSHH and manual handling requirements.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, quality procedures and in-process inspection requirements.
- Monitor and improve quality, productivity, utilisation, WIP and stock accuracy.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and 5S initiatives, eliminating waste and improving efficiency.
- Analyse takt times, capacity and workload requirements to optimise CNC production.
- Maintain accurate production information, works orders and manufacturing systems.
- Provide hands-on support to resolve production and technical issues.
- Take full ownership of the CNC machining area, escalating issues where required and driving effective solutions.
About You
We're looking for an experienced CNC Team Leader, CNC Supervisor, Manufacturing Team Leader or Senior CNC Machinist ready to take the next step in their career.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience leading a multi-skilled CNC machining team.
- Strong CNC machining experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with CNC machinery, automated processes and/or robotics.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement.
- Experience with production planning, capacity and workload scheduling.
- Good understanding of manufacturing quality and inspection processes.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.
- A hands-on approach with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Excellent communication, organisation and people-management skills.
- A results-driven mindset with a strong focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
Salary & Overtime
- £39,395 basic annual salary, including guaranteed minimum bonus.
- Level A overtime: £26.54 per hour (1.5x).
- Level B overtime: £35.38 per hour (2x).
- Additional business performance bonus averaging £280–£350 per month (for reference).
- Applicants must be flexible to work both shifts if required.
