Internal Sales Executive – Manufacturing Sector

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing UK manufacturer operating within the infrastructure and industrial products sector. The Role:
This position will play a key role in managing and growing existing customer accounts while identifying and developing new business opportunities across the UK market. The successful candidate will work closely with contractors, local authorities, and industry stakeholders, supporting projects from enquiry through to quotation and order stage.
The role combines account management, technical sales support, tender submissions, and commercial relationship building.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers
- Identify and maximise new business opportunities within target markets
- Prepare detailed quotations and tender submissions from technical drawings and specifications
- Liaise with third-party suppliers to obtain pricing and lead times
- Research material, transport, and labour costs to support accurate quotations
- Support contract bid preparation and online tender submissions
- Use digital tender platforms and Boolean search tools to identify opportunities
- Manage customer enquiries and provide outstanding customer service throughout the sales cycle
- Promote upselling opportunities across product and service ranges
- Participate in project management activities and support strategic key accounts
- Maintain accurate sales and purchasing records using Sage systems
- Produce regular sales and activity reports in line with company KPIs
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience within internal sales, technical sales, or account management in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- A proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- The ability to interpret technical drawings and customer specifications
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, self-motivated, and customer-focused approach
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience using CRM and sales systems, ideally Sage
