A leading civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the successful delivery of multiple projects across the North West and wider UK.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business delivering major projects within earthworks, highways, infrastructure, remediation, drainage, utilities, demolition and enabling works. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for operational performance, commercial success and the safe delivery of projects valued up to £10m+.
The Role:
As Contracts Manager, you will oversee several projects simultaneously, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and commercial teams to drive performance, manage risk and maintain excellent client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the delivery of multiple civil engineering projects.
- Oversee earthworks, highways, drainage, utilities, remediation and infrastructure schemes.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
- Lead and support Project Managers and site teams.
- Monitor programme, costs, resources and project performance.
- Manage procurement of materials, plant and subcontractors.
- Work closely with commercial teams to maximise profitability and control risk.
- Administer contracts, including NEC and JCT forms.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, designers and supply chain partners.
- Produce regular progress, commercial and performance reports.
- Drive a culture of collaboration, safety and operational excellence.
About You:
We are looking for a proven Contracts Manager with strong leadership skills and extensive civil engineering experience.
Essential Requirements:
- HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing multiple civil engineering projects.
- Experience within earthworks, highways, drainage, utilities, remediation or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of NEC and JCT contracts.
- Excellent commercial awareness.
- SMSTS and CSCS Black Card preferred.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
