Extrusion Operative
- Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
- Starting Salary: £30,638.40 per annum + overtime
- Shift Pattern: Rotating 3-shift system (8-hour shifts)
The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Extrusion Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business operating within the plastics industry.
Working as part of an experienced production team, you will receive full training and support to become proficient in setting and operating plastic extrusion machinery while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor plastic extrusion machinery following full training.
- Ensure all products meet strict quality standards and customer specifications.
- Carry out regular quality checks against retained samples and production requirements.
- Maintain production output in line with established targets and standard operating times.
- Complete all production documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and promote a safe working environment.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the production area.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and follow company policies and procedures at all times.
- Work closely with team leaders and colleagues to ensure smooth production operations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience within plastic extrusion manufacturing (desirable but not essential).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
- A proactive and positive attitude towards work.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work a rotating 3-shift pattern.
