Furnace Operative

Salary: £35,000 - £44,500 per annum
The Role
We're recruiting for a Furnace Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business within the Engineering industry.
Working as part of the production team, you'll operate smelting furnaces and associated equipment, ensuring production runs safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate smelting furnaces and production equipment.
- Monitor the smelting process and carry out quality checks.
- Load raw materials and assist with metal processing.
- Follow all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures.
- Work safely in a high-temperature industrial environment using the required PPE.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area.
- Work with colleagues to achieve daily production targets.
- Report faults, defects and safety concerns promptly.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in manufacturing, smelting, foundry, recycling, engineering or heavy industry is desirable.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and commitment to health & safety.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding, high-temperature environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Full training provided for the right candidate.
