General Operative
About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and motivated General Operative to join our production and warehouse team. This is a hands-on role within a busy manufacturing environment, supporting the production, assembly, storage, and dispatch of high-quality products.
The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Full training will be provided on specialist machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the warehouse, factory, yard, and storage areas.
- Safely operate a counterbalance forklift (where qualified), carrying out daily vehicle checks and following best practice.
- Use manual handling equipment, including pump trucks and trolleys.
- Measure, assemble, and prepare products for manufacture.
- Operate production equipment, including CNC cutting machines and heat press machinery (full training provided).
- Operate high-frequency welding equipment when required (full training provided).
- Store raw materials and finished products accurately and safely.
- Prepare materials for production and support colleagues across the manufacturing process.
- Move materials and completed products to the correct locations.
- Pack finished goods for dispatch to customers.
- Clean and carry out routine maintenance of machinery and workstations.
- Provide cover within the dispatch department when required (training provided).
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming deliveries, ensuring goods are accurate and in good condition.
- Support the operation of Zünd cutting machines when required (training provided).
- Work safely at all times, following company Health & Safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organised working environment.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by management.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to support seasonal workloads and occasional later finishes when required.
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (training can be provided if required).
- Previous manufacturing experience.
Hours:
- 42.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- Core hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm
