Due to continued growth and investment, our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join their established engineering and maintenance team within a heavy manufacturing environment.
The Role:
Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring plant machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, breakdown response, installation work, and continuous improvement activities across site.
This is a hands-on role suited to a mechanically skilled engineer who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment and takes pride in maintaining high engineering and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across a range of plant and machinery
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency
- Perform installation, repair, and general maintenance work on manufacturing equipment
- Complete Task Specific Risk Assessments and follow all Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure all equipment is isolated and safe before maintenance work begins
- Report equipment defects, safety concerns, and reliability issues promptly
- Maintain high housekeeping standards within workshop and maintenance areas
- Ensure all guards and safety devices are correctly refitted following maintenance activities
- Correctly manage and book out spare parts and materials from stores
- Operate company equipment and vehicles safely and responsibly
- Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Energy policies
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to support operational performance
About You:
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working within a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment
- A recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
- Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills on industrial machinery and plant equipment
- A strong understanding of health and safety within engineering environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A reliable and proactive approach with strong attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Shift Pattern:
- 2 Days / 2 Nights / 4 Days Off
- Excellent rotation structure providing extended rest periods
- After rotation of 7 leads to 18 consecutive days off
