Materials Controller
Alfreton, Derbyshire | Full-Time | 12-Month FTC
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum
A leading engineering business is looking for an experienced Materials Controller to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension or a permanent position.
The Role:
- Manage goods inwards and outwards, including deliveries and collections.
- Book incoming materials onto internal systems.
- Check deliveries for quantity, quality and dimensions.
- Manage material certification and documentation.
- Maintain accurate stock records and support regular stock takes.
- Allocate materials to jobs and ensure correct segregation and storage.
- Order consumables, tooling and materials as required.
- Load and unload deliveries using a forklift truck.
- Support the Purchasing Manager with purchasing activities.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in materials control, goods in, purchasing, stores or a warehouse environment.
- FLT licence preferred, although training can be provided.
- Computer literate with good Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience with Sage, SAP or MRP systems is desirable.
- Good communication and telephone skills.
- Reliable, organised and physically fit.
- Engineering or manufacturing environment experience is desirable.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Hours & Benefits:
- Monday–Friday, 39.5 hours per week.
- Flexible working between 7:00am–6:00pm.
- Typical hours: 7:00am–4:30pm.
