The Opportunity
An established and growing engineering consultancy is seeking an ambitious Operations Team Financial Specialist to support the successful delivery of projects across multiple technical disciplines, including Structural Engineering, Fire Engineering, Façade Engineering, and Building Safety.
This is a highly visible position sitting at the heart of project delivery, operations, and financial performance. Working closely with technical and operational teams, you will play a key role in project coordination, financial tracking, resource planning, reporting, and process improvement, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project delivery activities across multiple engineering and consultancy teams.
- Monitor project performance, financial metrics, budgets, and operational KPIs.
- Support monthly revenue targets through effective project tracking and resource coordination.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure projects progress in line with agreed milestones and commercial objectives.
- Produce and maintain project documentation, reports, schedules, and performance data.
- Track project costs, profitability, invoicing milestones, and financial forecasts.
- Identify operational efficiencies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure quality assurance procedures and compliance processes are maintained throughout project lifecycles.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external clients, providing timely project updates and support.
- Assist leadership teams with project reporting, financial analysis, and business performance monitoring.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience within project coordination, project controls, operations, commercial support, or engineering consultancy environments.
- Strong understanding of construction project delivery and the built environment sector.
- Excellent financial and commercial awareness with the ability to interpret project performance data.
- Experience monitoring project budgets, resource allocation, profitability, and operational performance.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with project management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
