Part-Time Bookkeeper

Role Overview:
As a Part-Time Bookkeeper, you will oversee the full end-to-end finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to relevant legislation. This role requires strong experience with Sage 50 and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced and expanding business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Generate and issue weekly sales invoices using Sage 50
- Manage purchase and sales ledgers, including credit control
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with HMRC requirements
- Run payroll and pension submissions
- Monitor and chase overdue payments; manage the debtor ledger
- Reconcile monthly bank statements
- Produce monthly cash flow statements
- Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance role
- Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts
- Experience in payroll, cash flow management, and VAT returns
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Confident communicator for liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Flexible, with a willingness to support other departments when needed
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience working within a small to medium-sized business environment
- Knowledge of the manufacturing or industrial supply sectors
