Plant Fitter
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £16.00 per hour basic
Overtime: £24.00 per hour (time-and-a-half)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm
Saturday: 7:00am–12:00 noon when required

The Opportunity:
Due to continued growth and expansion, we are looking for an experienced Plant Fitter to join an established waste management operation in Sheffield.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Plant Fitter looking for stable, permanent employment, strong earning potential and consistent Monday – Friday hours, with overtime available.
You will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of a wide range of heavy mobile plant and processing equipment.
The Role:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and servicing.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and hydraulic faults.
- Respond to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.
- Maintain and repair Material Handlers, 360 Excavators, Loading Shovels, Trommels, Crushers and other heavy plant.
- Identify faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Complete service sheets, maintenance records and relevant paperwork.
- Work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team.
- Support colleagues and production teams when required.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping.
About You:
- Previous experience as a Plant Fitter / Heavy Plant Engineer.
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile plant.
- Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
- Experience working on equipment such as excavators, loading shovels, material handlers, crushers or trommels is highly desirable.
- Able to work independently and use initiative.
- Reliable, practical and safety-conscious.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Pay & Overtime:
- £16.00 per hour basic rate for the first 40 hours.
- £24.00 per hour for overtime (time-and-a-half).
- Standard working week is 50 hours Monday–Friday, meaning:
- 40 hours basic = £640
- 10 hours overtime = £240
- £880 gross per week, before deductions.
- Saturday work is available when required and would be paid at the overtime rate.
