Production & Material Planner
Starting Salary: Circa of £45,000 per annum.
This is a Full time, Permanent position.
Due to continued expansion, we are recruiting an experienced Production & Material Planner to join our well established client.
Summary:
Responsible for creating the production plan from customer demand. Ensuring the timely availability of materials required for manufacturing. This includes managing raw materials to support efficient production and on-time delivery of customer orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating a robust production plan, incorporating customer demand.
- Understand attributes that impact capacity and lead-times.
- Work closely with stakeholders to adjust schedules based on capacity, machine availability, and labour.
- Plan and manage material requirements for all components.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays.
- Monitor stock levels of raw materials, maintaining optimal inventory.
- Raise purchase orders and track incoming deliveries.
- Identify and resolve material shortages, quality issues, or supply chain disruptions.
- Maintain master data.
- Track and report on planning KPIs and production performance.
- Drive continuous improvement in planning, stock control, and workflow efficiency.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
- Excellent planning, scheduling, and organisational skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Effective communication and cross-functional coordination.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in production planning, material planning and supply chain within a manufacturing background.
- Familiarity with inventory management and demand forecasting.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles (desirable).
