Purchasing & Stock Controller
Location: Chesterfield Area
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
The Opportunity
We're recruiting for a Purchasing Coordinator & Stock Controller to join a growing manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with purchasing and stock control experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and supporting the smooth running of operations.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Raising and managing purchase orders using Sage 200.
- Monitoring supplier performance, deliveries and outstanding orders.
- Managing stock levels and maintaining accurate stock records.
- Coordinating supplier queries, returns and warranty claims.
- Liaising with suppliers and internal departments to ensure material availability.
- Producing reports on purchasing activity, supplier performance and stock.
- Supporting cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Occasional travel to other UK sites as required.
About You
Essential:
- Previous experience in purchasing and stock control within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using Sage 200 or a similar ERP system.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- CIPS qualification (or working towards).
- Experience purchasing steel, electrical components or engineering materials.
