Quality Engineer
Salary: £38,000 – £45,000 per annum
Location: Chesterfield

The Role:
We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on, shop-floor-focused role for someone who takes ownership, enjoys solving problems and is passionate about getting things right first time.
Working closely with Production, Engineering and other key teams, you will identify quality issues, drive root-cause solutions and help prevent problems from recurring. You will also deputise as the primary quality contact when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a strong quality presence across the manufacturing operation.
- Monitor in-process quality, specifications and process controls.
- Lead investigations into non-conformances, abnormalities and customer complaints.
- Use 8D, Root Cause Analysis and CAPA to resolve quality issues.
- Drive improvements in Right First Time (RFT) performance.
- Develop and maintain procedures, work instructions and inspection plans.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits and customer visits.
- Manage quality documentation, KPIs and non-conformance records.
- Support process changes, NPI and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide quality leadership and decision-making when required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a manufacturing quality role with strong shop-floor exposure.
- Practical experience with 8D, RCA and CAPA.
- Good understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
- Experience managing non-conformances from detection through to resolution.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- A proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach.
- A strong commitment to safety, compliance and product quality.
