Stock Controller
- Shift Pattern: 6/6 4 on 4 off (2 days and 2 nights)
- Salary: £39,104 inc of shift premium
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced Stock Controller to join a busy manufacturing and stockyard operation.
This is a hands-on role combining stock control, MHE operation and warehouse management, ensuring products are moved, stored and recorded safely and accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely move and store finished products within the stockyard.
- Operate Counterbalance, Combi and/or Side Loader MHE.
- Load and transport pallets, coils, fittings and pipe lengths up to 18 metres.
- Carry out stock checks, stock rotation and inventory movements.
- Complete quality checks and report damaged or incorrect products.
- Accurately record stock movements using handheld scanners and ERP systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate discrepancies.
- Ensure the stockyard operates to high health & safety and 5S standards.
- Complete daily MHE checks and report any defects or hazards.
- Liaise with production and stockyard teams to meet operational targets and KPIs.
- Complete effective shift handovers and communicate any issues to management.
About You:
- Current Counterbalance, Combi or Side Loader licence is essential.
- Previous experience in stock control, warehousing, manufacturing or a similar environment.
- Confident operating MHE in a busy stockyard environment.
- Good computer skills and experience using stock/ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical ability.
- Excellent safety awareness and a proactive approach.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Telehandler experience would be advantageous.
