We’re recruiting for an experienced Stores Operative to join a busy operation where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the stores department. The Role
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of stock, deliveries, and materials, helping ensure goods are received, stored, and issued efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely unloading and processing deliveries in line with site procedures
- Checking deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes
- Accurately storing stock and maintaining organised storage areas
- Carrying out stock checks and investigating discrepancies
- Maintaining stock records and supporting inventory control processes
- Providing an efficient stores counter service to staff and contractors
- Coordinating supplier returns and deliveries with procurement teams
- Maintaining clean, safe, and secure working areas
- Operating a Forklift Truck and other site equipment where required
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience within a stores, warehouse, or logistics environment
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Good IT skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and manage workload effectively
- A reliable, flexible, and customer-focused attitude
- Forklift Truck, OHC, crane, or site vehicle licences would be advantageous — training can be provided
