Technical Roofing Engineer
North East England with occasional travel into Scotland

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit an experienced Technical Roofing Engineer to join their established technical team. This is a field-based role covering the North East, with occasional travel into Scotland.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting contractors, monitoring installations, carrying out inspections, and ensuring roofing systems are installed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out ongoing contract monitoring inspections in line with company procedures and specifications
- Ensure all roofing installations meet company and industry standards
- Produce detailed survey, inspection, and progress reports within agreed timescales
- Complete project sign-offs and support the company guarantee process
- Arrange guarantee documentation and maintain photographic records for reference purposes
- Assist with complaints investigations and provide detailed technical reports
- Support Area Business Managers with site surveys, technical specifications, and design details when required
- Deliver installer training and assess installer competency and approvals
- Conduct contractor assessments as part of the Approved Contractor evaluation process
- Support the Technical and Marketing teams with the development of new products and systems where required
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 15 years’ experience within the roofing industry
- Extensive installation and product knowledge of both BUR and Single Ply roofing systems
- Knowledge of liquid roofing and hot melt systems would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of roofing industry standards and best practice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional approach with the ability to build relationships at all levels
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Positive attitude towards continuous learning and development
