Your Role:
As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for manufacturing, maintaining, and repairing extrusion tooling to a high standard. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure tooling performance meets required quality and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture, assemble, and repair extrusion tooling from start to finish
- Interpret and work from both simple and complex engineering/tool drawings
- Carry out tooling modifications during testing and development stages
- Operate XYZ milling machines, lathes, spark eroders, and precision surface grinders
- Program and operate CNC/EDM equipment including FANUC wire eroders, die sink EDM, and CNC spark drilling machines
- Use 2D AutoCAD for design interpretation and adjustments
- Work closely with the development team during tool trials and testing
- Ensure all tooling meets required quality and performance standards
- Support continuous improvement in tooling and production processes
Requirements:
- Experienced Toolmaker in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with extrusion tooling (desirable)
- Strong CNC/EDM machining experience
- Confident reading technical drawings and working with CAD systems
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a small team
- Proactive and quality-focused approach
