    Utility Site Technician

    Full Time | Permanent | £34,856 – £40,000 per annum

    We are recruiting for an experienced Utility Site Technician to join our client’s expanding team, working across utility installation projects within the water and gas sectors.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on site work, problem-solving, and working within a skilled and supportive team environment.

    The Role

    As a Utility Site Technician, you’ll be involved in a variety of site-based installation and project work on both polyethylene and metallic water and gas systems. Working across live utility environments, you’ll support the planning, installation, testing, and commissioning of utility systems while ensuring all work is carried out safely and to industry standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carrying out installations and project work on water and gas utility systems
    • Working on both polyethylene and metallic pipe systems
    • Supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of utility projects
    • Assisting with construction, testing, and commissioning of live pipeline connections
    • Writing and reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
    • Ensuring all work complies with Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and industry regulations
    • Working safely on sensitive sites, public highways, and operational environments
    • Communicating effectively with contractors, operatives, and customers on site
    • Supporting the development and introduction of new techniques and processes
    • Maintaining a proactive and team-focused approach on all projects

    What We’re Looking For

    • Mechanical Engineering qualification (minimum NVQ Level 1 or equivalent)
    • Previous experience working within a utilities or field-based environment
    • Good understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental requirements
    • Strong organisational and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • A flexible, proactive, and hands-on attitude
    • Full UK driving licence

    Essential Qualifications & Certifications

    • NRSWA qualification
    • CSCS card
    • Utility SHEA Gas & SHEA Water
    • EUSR Water Hygiene Card
    • First Aid qualification

    Desirable Skills & Experience

    • Experience working with polyethylene and metallic gas/water systems
    • 360 Excavator operation (10T and above)
    • Lifting operations experience
    • Slinger/Signaller/Banksman qualifications
    • Experience operating winches up to 10T and 40T capacity
    • EUSR Pipeline Commissioning training
